Roll of Excellence
The Roll of Excellence this week goes to Mahdi and Sahana. Mahdi has shown an excellent growth mindset and has given excellent answers in reading and writing. Sahana has grown in confidence in maths and is tackling math problems with enthusiasm
Bashar has received the award for most improved musician this year and both Kiran and Bashar performed beautifully at the Summer Showcase, playing the violin, flute, and piano.
Last week was STEM week and Aspen class enjoyed making coin rollercoasters, evaluating and adjusting their designs. They all worked very well together!
This week we had our last forest school session and all the children received certificates for the hard work they have been doing over the last five weeks. It was an extra bonus to have parents come along or the graduation ceremony as well!
This week we have had an extremely fun and busy week with forest school, dance and the The Primary Shakespeare coming in to work with us. Aspen class has worked really well together and come up with some amazing ideas and have furthered their learning.
Aspen class has begun Forest School this week which everyone found really enjoyable and exciting! We thought of ways that we could improve the environment in light of World Earth Day and made nature weaves collecting items from nature. We are looking forward to our weekly sessions learning outside. Attachments area
This week, Aspen class jumped straight back into science experiments to solve the mystery of the missing polar bear, using chromatography to discover which pen wrote the mysterious ransom note.
Children completed their PE sports quiz working together on their chromebooks in class.
This week Aspen had a visit from the author Beth Shepherd as part of book week. We learned about what features in writing make a good story.
This week the children have been learning about friction. We tested how far cars travelled on different surfaces, testing tarmac, wood, and carpet.
The children have been performing their own version of the narrative poem, “The Visitor.” They memorised their lines and performed their poems while practising intonation.
