This week Year 5 had an exciting trip to the Houses of Parliament where the children were taken on a tour of both Chambers followed by a workshop where they learned how to organise a campaign on local issues that they care about. We feel so empowered after our trip!

This week we started our new Maths topic on Fractions, Decimals and Percentages. For our first lesson, we cut strips of paper to explore the relationship between equivalent fractions.

For our first Science lesson on Properties of Material, we explored various household materials and their uses. We then wrote up findings and presented our work.

Year 5 enjoyed a magical performance of Wicked on the theatre trip this week.

This week we have been planting daffodils in the park next to our School to help reduce pollution and make our local environment look colourful in Spring time!

This week we have been looking at how authors create suspense and tension in their writing in preparation for our own writing.

We have been developing our drawing skills in their Art lesson which look place in the School library this week. We seem to have future architects and engineers amongst us.
