6-MAPLE

This week we had a visitor from History Off The Page who transported us to 1940's Britain. Year 6 had a lot of fun learning about the currency of the time, the lessons taught in school, how to put your gas mask on in the event of a gas attack and much more!

For our Eid celebration assembly this week, Year 6 designed and presented acrostic poems in the spirit of Eid.

Today we had a Mandarin workshop with Rooks Heath School. We learnt introduce ourselves in Mandarin and how to greet others.

This week we have presented a small performance about the Spanish New year.

In our R.E lesson we made Christingles for Christmas and had lots of fun making it.

In today’s science lesson, we feed Venus flytraps and it was very fun and fascinating to do.

This week the whole of key stage 2 went into London to watch Matilda on stage. From the cast to the music to the prop designs it was a magical show!

This week we had an ex-world champion extreme scooter rider visit us. He told us a bit about himself and how he started riding, and performed some amazing stunts for the whole school!

As part of our science lesson this week we looked at the refraction of light, how a pencil looks different in a half filled cup of water and why rainbows appear in the sky!

These past few weeks as part of Black History Month we have been looking at The Caribbean and how Caribbean culture has affected the U.K. We took part in a workshop and researched about the Windrush Generation, creating pieces of artwork during Half Term and telling the school what we have done during assembly.
