Y1-OAK

Roll of Excellence

My Roll of Excellence this week goes to . . .

. . .the whole of Oak class for demonstrating  great behaviour on our school trip to the Natural History Museum.

The children had a super time. They were amazed at all the things they saw at the museum.

After the trip, they had an opportunity to write about all the facts about dinosaurs that they learnt at the museum.

Learning about Russia . . .

A vast variety of events and learning experiences took place this week - please enjoy the photos . . .

Thanks to all the parents who took part in Aspirations Week - we appreciate your time

Dinosaurs, planting seeds, phonics and maths...!

A very busy week in Y1 Oak with dinosaurs and learing about different faiths.

Outdoor Lessons and Dinosaur Sculptures

Here we are learning about Compass Points

This week in Oak Class we learnt about sculptures and had a go at making our own sculptures with Salt Dough. The children were shown how to make salt dough. Can they recall it?

Have a look at the beautiful pictures the children made in pastels to depict Article 27.

During Science Week the children spent an exciting afternoon building a free-standing structure from newspapers. It was challenging but look at the amazing towers they created!

We had a very exciting Shakespeare Week. The children learnt all about William Shakespeare and enjoyed making their enchanted flowers from 'A Mid-summer Night's Dream'. We also had a great time looking at our special guests - the chicks.

This week the children enjoyed writing riddles for their riddle jars and decorating the jars. They will now exchange the jars and try to solve their friend's riddles at home.
