MY ROLL OF EXCELLENCE FOR THIS WEEK GOES TO:

This week Year 5 visited the British Museum to learn more about the Parthenon marbles for the studies in Ancient Greece. It was incredible to see these 2500 year old artefacts up close and in detail.

We have been making Greek style pots using terracotta clay in Design and Technology.

The children have been learning about food waste and how to make smoothies using pedal power! The event was organised by Chartwell, our in-house caterers.

We have been to the Zoroastrian Centre at the end of our topic on this religion. It was really interesting!

During this week Year 5 Hawthorn participated in an external upper key stage 2 Maths Challenge.

Year 5 Hawthorn have been busy making decorations in the theme of fireworks to celebrate Diwali.

We have been learning about Zoroastrianism and the class have created some wonderful drawings of Zorohustra, the founder.

Using knowledge of Scratch coding to re-create mythical creatures used to support writing in English.

The children have been investigating air resistance as part of their lessons on Forces. They have been designing parachutes of different sizes to see whether this makes a difference.
